Alternative Designs (Continued):
One final alternative to discuss is to make the same semi-circular wire components, but use 1/4" of chain and 6mm beads so that the bead hangs roughly in the middle of the opening between the semi-circular wire components. You can view this alternative with a pearl bead at right. For this alternative we used square wire again and we had to bend the wire just below the loops at the top of the semi-circular wire components slightly so that they would hang close together. We hope you like our 150 Jewelry Wire & Beads Earrings and the alternative designs for these earrings. We used some ideas based upon jewelry in a jewelry store and have made several alternative designs that bear little resemblance to the original design. Given all the alternative designs, these earrings look best when made with your own Oval Ear Wires. The similarity between the shape of the custom made Oval ear wire and the earring body makes the combination look just that much better. |
Our
second alternative is slightly more advanced than our first two
alternatives. In this second alternative, we used fine gauge wire to
wrap the two semi-circular wire components together permanently.
This creates the fish shape shown at right. Use either 24 gauge
round wire or 21 gauge 1/2 round wire to create the wraps at the top and
bottom. In this alternative, in addition to wrapping the two
semi-circular wire components, we also used 18 gauge square wire instead
of round wire to create the fish component shown.
