Step 11 to 30 Degree Jewelry Wire & Beads Earrings Jewelry Making ProjectStep 11:  First, use your flush cutter to cut off the partial initial loop, then use your round nose pliers to make a loop at the bottom, center of the wire component as shown at right.  Step 12 to 30 Degree Spiral Jewelry Wire & Beads Jewelry Making Project

Step 12:  Now we need to make the small spiral at the top of this component.  We are going to make this spiral using our WigJig Spiral Maker so that we won't have any tool marks on the spiral.  The first step in making the spiral is to make a 90 degree bend in the end of the wire.  You need to make this bend about 1/2" from the end of the wire as shown at left.  Step 13 to 30 Degree Spiral Jewelry Wire & Beads Earrings Jewelry Making Project

Step 13:  The next step in making the spiral is to use your round nose pliers to make a 180 degree bend immediately adjacent to the 90 degree bend you made in step 12.  This 180 degree bend is on the long wire segment and forms the beginning of the spiral.  (This step is not mandatory, but helps to make the center of the spiral as rounded as possible.)  You can view the wire after the 180 degree bend has been made at left.  The 1/2" 90 degree bend does not show in this picture other than as a single point because that short segment of wire is pointing toward the camera.

Step 14 to 30 Degree Spiral Jewelry Wire & Beads Earrings Jewelry Making ProjectStep 14:  Place the short, 1/2" segment of wire into one of the holes on the Spiral Maker and place the peg in the Spiral Maker into one of the holes in your jig.  Now make a spiral.  The steps in making a spiral using the Spiral Maker can be viewed here or here starting with step 10.  You will need to finish making the spiral by holding the spiral in your bent chain nose pliers and slowly adding to the spiral by bending the wire.  When you have completed the spiral, use your flush cutter to cut the center post off the spiral.  At this point your 30 Degree Spiral wire component should appear as shown at right.
