Step 22: At this point you can add your commercial ear wire
to the top of the earring body. In order to connect between a
standard commercial ear wire and your earring body, you will need to
make a modified figure 8 connector out of 1 1/4" of 20 gauge
wire.
You can find instructions for
making the modified figure 8 connector here. Step 23: The final step in making these earrings is to attach either one or three bead dangles to the bottom of the earrings. You can attach the bead dangle using an open loop as described here, or with a wrapped loop as described here. In the earrings shown at left, we used the wrapped loop to attach three bead dangles. The bead dangles were threaded onto 2" head pins with a combination of three 6mm round Swarovski Crystal beads and two 2x4mm bugle beads. The bugle beads were our item 1883, Crystal Silver Lined bugle beads. The Swarovski, round, 6mm beads were our item 2795, Crystal AB 25 faceted round beads and our item 2805, Sapphire 25 faceted round beads. The crystal AB beads are partially mirrored and do a great job of reflecting light in low light conditions. The sapphire beads are brightly colored and look great in daylight or strong light. The combination of the two beads makes these earrings really stand out in either bright light or in low light. We hope you like these earrings. In the next page we will discuss some alternative designs. |
