 Step
13: In stringing this necklace, the pattern is five 6mm beads
separated by size 6 seed beads, then a 3 hole spacer bar wire component.
Starting with strand one on the top at right, after the crimp bead was
successfully crimped closed, you would add a 6mm bead, a size 6 seed bead,
a 6mm bead and a size 6 seed bead until you added the fifth 6mm bead.
For the middle strand, you can replace the third 6mm bead with a
contrasting color bead as we have shown above right. Once you have
added five 6mm beads on each of the three strands you are ready to add the
3 hole spacer bar finding that we made. Because of the way that we
made these findings, the spacer bar finding is thicker in the center than
on either end. This can cause the middle strand of beads to be
slightly longer than the two outer strands. This will not show when
being worn, but can show when the necklace is laid flat. You can do
one of three things here -- 1.
you can completely ignore this and it won't show when the necklace is
worn, 2. you can add a single seed bead to strand 1 & 3 just prior to the
spacer bar or 3. you can delete the seed beads on either side of the
middle bead of the five 6mm beads in the middle strand (strand 2).Step
14: You will need to add 8 segments of five 6mm beads followed by a
spacer bar and the 9th segment will be followed by the end wire component
that we made earlier. With the 9th segment you first string the
crimp bead, then thread your bead stringing wire through one of the holes
in the end wire component and finally string the wire back through the
crimp bead. Pull the wire snug and if possible thread the wire back
through the closest 6mm bead. Once the wire is snugly in place,
crimp the three crimp beads closed and cut the excess bead stringing wire.
At this point you should have a segment of beads about 14 inches long with
the end loop
Step 15: Now we are ready to add a clasp to one end of the strand of beads. Using a jump ring, open the jump ring and connect it between your clasp and the end loop in one of the 2-1 connectors. Once the connection is completed, then close the jump ring. |
