Step
4: Position pegs 1 and 2 in your jig. Using your 1 3/8"
segments of wire, place your initial loop on peg 1 and wrap the wire
around peg 2 as shown.
Step 5: Remove the wire from your jig. Cut the excess wire and using your bent chain nose pliers, close the loop made on peg 2. These two wire components will become your end wire component. Set them aside and we will use them again later. Step 6: Position pegs 3 and 4 in your jig. Using your 2 1/4" wire segments, place your initial loop on peg 3 and wrap the wire around peg 4. Push the wire until it rests adjacent to the hole for peg 5 with no pressure applied. Then add peg 5 and wrap the wire around peg 5 as shown above. Step 7: Remove the wire from your jig. Cut the excess
wire and using your bent chain nose pliers close the final loop made on
peg 5. These two wire components will become your 2-1 components.
Step 8: Now convert the two "P" loops on the end of the wire
component into eye loops using the tips of your round nose pliers.
Step 9: At this point you need to twist both loops 90 degrees
using your bent chain nose pliers. This is necessary so that you can
connect the two loops on this component to the two loops in the end wire
component that you completed in step 5 (in a later step).
Step 10: Now grasp each loop, one at a time, and bend them
parallel to one another as shown at right.
Step 11: Now we are ready to connect the 2-1 connector to the end wire component. This is done by first opening one loop on the end of the 2-1 connector using your bent chain nose pliers and connecting that loop to one of the end loops on the end wire component then closing that loop. To connect the second pair of loops you need to open both the loop on the 2-1 connector and the loop in the end wire component. With both loops open, connect the two components, then close both loops. |
