These earrings are made with six components. Two of these wire
components are made on your WigJig jewelry making jig -- they are the top
wire component and the semi-circular wire component (shown below at
right). One of these wire components is the purchased ear wire
finding. The modified figure 8 wire component is made using your
round nose pliers. The remaining two components are the five bottom
bead dangles and the large central bead dangle. We will begin the
instructions for making these earrings with the semi-circular wire
component. |

Step 1: Cut and make a loop in in 3 inch segment of 20 gauge wire. Step 2: Straighten this wire segment Step 3: Add pegs 1 and 2 to your jig as shown at right. Leave pegs 3, 4, and 5 off the jig. Place your initial loop on peg 1 and wrap your wire around peg 2. Push the wire until it rests next to the hole for peg 3 with no pressure being applied. Step 4: Add peg 3 to the pattern. Now wrap the wire around peg 3 so that the wire rests next to the hole for peg 4 with no pressure being applied. Step 5: Add peg 4 to the pattern. Wrap the wire around peg 4 so that the wire rests against the hole for peg 5 with no pressure being applied. Step 6: Add peg 5 and wrap the wire around peg 5. Step 7: Remove the wire from the jig and cut the excess wire. Close the loop made around peg 5 with your bent chain nose pliers. |
