At this point we have connected the ear wire finding, the modified figure
8 connector, the top wire component and the semi-circular wire component
and we are ready to add the bead dangles.
Step 21: Take a 1-1/2 inch head pin and add an 8mm bead. Slide the bead down to the bottom of the head pin and measure 3/8" above the top of the bead. Using your bent chain nose pliers, bend the head pin about 90 degrees at that point. Step 22: Using your round nose pliers, grasp the head pin near
the 90 degree bend, but on the horizontal segment. Make a loop in
the wire at that point. This is a two step process as you will need
to make a 180 degree bend of the wire up and over the top jaw of your
round nose pliers, then reposition the head pin in the jaws of your pliers
and complete the loop with another 180 degree bend. |

| Step 23: Cut the excess wire. This will make the bead
dangle for the large bead shown in the middle above-right.
Step 24: Open the loop in this bead dangle and insert it in the top loop of the top wire component, then close the loop. See the picture for how this should look. Step 25: Now take another 1-1/2 inch head pin and thread one 4mm bead, a size 6 silver lined seed bead and a second 4mm bead onto that head pin. Slide the beads all the way down. Grasp the head pin just above your beads near the tips of your bent chain nose pliers. Bend the wire 90 degrees and make as loop as described above. Before cutting the excess wire, slide the loop in the head pin so that it connects with one of the loops at the bottom of the semi-circular wire component. Once they are connected, grasp the loop with the tips of your bent chain nose pliers and wrap the wire around the head pin, completing a wrapped loop. Cut the excess wire and using two pair of bent chain nose pliers, squeeze the cut wire tail flat. Repeat this step for all five loops in the bottom of the semi-circular wire component, making a total of five bead dangles, each with two 4mm beads and one size 6 seed bead. This completes one earring. Repeat the above steps to make your second earring. |
