Step 15: Using your flush cutter, cut the excess wire leaving about 1/16" of excess wire as shown at right. Step 16: Now we need to squeeze the cut end of the wire down so that it doesn't stick up. Use your bent chain nose pliers to squeeze the end of the wire. You can also use bent closing pliers to squeeze the cut end flat. When completed, the wire should appear as shown below-left. Step 17: Before wrapping the opposite side of the wire component closed, we need to connect this wire component to a prior loop in the chain or to our clasp. For the first loop in your chain, connect that loop to your clasp. When making this bracelet, we need to make a segment of chain connected to a clasp with four links, two segments of chain with two links, and one segment of chain with four links. See the picture below-center for how to connect a link to the clasp or prior link.
Step 18: At this point we need to bend the loops together. To start bending the loops together, we need to use our fine step jaw pliers to grasp the wire in the center of the wire segment between the two loops using the first step on your step jaw pliers as shown below-right. Please note that the wire tail is on the outside of the loops of wire. This way when the loops are bent together the wire will be on the outside of the loops.
