Step 6: Continue holding the loop in your bent chain nose pliers and bend the vertical wire tail down and across the loop as shown at right. In this picture, the diagonal wire segment is in essentially the same plane as the loop and the vertical wire segment. Step 7: Thread about 24 inches of Soft Flex bead stringing wire through the open portion of the loop as shown below-left. Leave about 1 1/2" of excess wire Using this excess wire tie a knot around the loop. This isn't mandatory, but it makes the necklace stronger if the wire pulls against the knot rather than pulling against the wire holding it. It also helps, after tying the knot, to thread the short end of the wire through the loop in the 22 gauge wire a second time. This is done so that the knot can be slid, so that it is on the opposite side of the loop in the 22 gauge wire from the necklace. Please select here for some detailed instructions in tying this knot. Again, this helps to make the necklace stronger because if the wire should pull, it will pull against the knot. After tying the knot, grasp the excess bead stringing wire in your plastic hemostat shown in blue below-left (Item 0357). Step 8: Grasp the loop and the diagonal wire with your bent chain nose pliers as shown center-left below. Step 9: While holding the loop firmly in your bent chain nose pliers, with the pliers in your non-dominant hand, and wrap the wire around the bead stringing wire as shown below center-right. Wrap the wire around about 2 or 3 times. This does not have to appear perfect. You will cover this loop later with an end cone finding. Step 10: Cut the excess 22 gauge wire with your flush cutter. Continue holding the loop with your bent chain nose pliers and use a second pair of chain nose pliers to squeeze and twist the cut end of the wire so that it will lay flat. Again remember that this won't show because it will be covered by your end cone finding.
