Alternative Designs Continued:

The necklace shown here uses our red Rainbow AB beads (Item 3462) as focal beads and 6mm red agate beads (item 3070) as the background beads. 

This necklace has a more muted appearance because the focal beads are very close in color to the background beads.  Muted doesn't mean bad, it may be just right for some people or some outfits.  Here is a design principle that we believe in -- If the outfit has a lot of style then the jewelry should be muted, if the outfit is rather simple then the jewelry should be more bold.  The same thing applies to the design of a necklace.  If the background beads have more style then the focal beads should be simpler.  If the background beads are simple then you can have very complex or noticeable focal beads.  The overall concept is that you don't want the ensemble to fight itself.  A striped tie doesn't look good with a striped shirt because the stripes fight one another visually.  So much for dress for success by WigJig.
