5: Remove both wire components from your jig. Cut the excess
wire on both segments.
Step 6: If you have an anvil and a chasing hammer or a nylon hammer, we recommend hammering each wire component to harden and set the design. This is not mandatory but is recommended. Step 7: Now make a medium jump rings out of 20 gauge wire using the jewelry making technique described here. Open this jump ring and use it to connect the Small Circular Wire Component to the Large Circular Wire Component. Once they are connected, close the jump ring. The technique for opening and closing a jump ring are discussed here. Step 8: To get these earrings to hang the right way, we need to connect the Large Circular Wire Component to an ear wire finding using a modified figure 8 connector. Make a modified figure 8 connector out of 20 gauge wire using the jewelry making technique described here. Step 9: Open the loops on the modified figure 8 connector and connect the ear wire finding to one end and the Large Circular Wire Component on the other end, then close both loops. Step 10: The last task necessary in making these earrings is to use a head-pin and connect your bead to the loop in the Small Circular Wire Component. You can make this bead dangle with either an open loop or a wrapped loop. When you have completed making your bead dangle and cut the excess wire your Bull's Eye Earring will be done. Make a second earring using the same steps described above, only hang the earring so that the orientation will be a mirror image of the first earring. |
