Jewelry Making Techniques

Step 1:  Cut and straighten a 6 inch piece of 18 gauge or 20 gauge wire.

Step 2:  Using your bent chain nose pliers, make a right angle bend in this wire 2 inches from one end.

Step 3:  Insert the 2" segment of bent wire into a WigJig Spiral Maker and begin making a spiral as described here

Step 4:  Continue making a spiral until all of your wire is used in the spiral.  When done, remove the wire from the Spiral Maker and the spiral should appear as shown at right.

Step 5:  Now insert two 8 mm beads onto the 2" segment of straight wire.  The spiral shown in this picture is sitting flat, with the 2 inch segment of straight wire pointing up.  The two crystal beads are threaded on the 2 inch segment of straight wire and slid down until they rest against the spiral.
