Step 6: While holding the beads against the spiral, use
your fingers to pull coils from the spiral up and away from the base of
the spiral. Separate the coils so that they are evenly spaced.
Continue pulling the coils away from the base until they appear as shown
at right. This is easier to accomplish if you pull one coil at a
time then space the coils evenly. |

| Step 7: While continuing to hold the beads against the base of the spiral, wrap the loose wire at the top around the 2 inch segment of straight wire at the center of the spiral. Make one complete and tight wrap. |

Step 8: (Not shown) Cut the excess wire. Then, using
bent chain nose pliers, try to squeeze the cut end of the wire against the
vertical wire segment so that it does not stick out.
Step 9: Now grasp the straight segment of wire immediately above the beads your bent chain nose pliers. Using the thickness of your pliers as a measure, bend the wire against the pliers to an angle of almost 90 degrees as shown at right. |
