![]() Step 1: Cut two 6 1/2" segments of 18 gauge soft wire. Step 2: Make a loop in the end of the wire with the flush cut. This loop needs to be sized to fit over peg 1, the regular metal peg for your jig.
Step 3: Grasp the initial loop in your wire segment and use
it to hold the wire while you
straighten the wire by pulling it repeatedly through the jaws of your
nylon jaw pliers.
Step 4: Position the initial loop in your wire segment on
peg 1 and position Super Pegs 2, 3, 4, and 5 in your jig. Peg 2 is a
1/2" Super Peg. Peg 3 is a 7/16" Super Peg. Peg 4 is a 5/16"
Super Peg. Peg 5 is a 3/16" Super Peg. Wrap the wire around
pegs 2, 3, 4, and 5 as shown at left. Normally, you won't want to
push your wire all the way down
Step 5: Now we need to continue wrapping the wire around
Super Peg 5, the 3/16" Super Peg as shown at right. In the following
steps we will weave the wire alternating so that each circle crosses on
the opposite side of the wire. It will be important to weave the
wire on as we complete the circles so that the wire varies from one side
of the wire
to
the opposite side on each succeeding circle. This
Step 6: Gently remove the wire from your jig. Lift each 1/2 circle in turn so that the wire shape is preserved. After removing the wire from your jig, reposition it so that you can place it back on your jig as shown at left. What you will have accomplished is flipping the wire over and then placing it back onto your pegs. These instructions continue on the next page. |
