Step 12: Having completed the Circles wire component, we need
to make a modified figure 8 connector to allow the top of the Circles wire
componen to be connected to your ear wire finding.
Step 13: We need to connect one loop on the modified figure 8 connector to the top of the Circles wire component and the other loop to the loop in your ear wire. To open the loops in your modified figure 8 connector you use your bent chain nose pliers as shown here. Once you have connected one of these loops to either your Circles wire component or to your ear wire finding, you close the loop with your bent chain nose pliers. Connect both Circles wire components to your ear wires using your modified figure 8 connectors. Step 14: The last step in making your Beaded Circles
Earrings is to make the bead dangle at the bottom of the earrings.
You make the bead dangle with a 6mm round bead and a head pin. You
can attach your bead to the bottom loop in the Circles wire component with
either an open loop, or a wrapped loop.
Instructions for making a bead
dangle can be found here. Connect a 6mm bead to the bottom loop
in each Circles wire component.
Step 15: At this point your earrings are essentially complete. There is one more thing that you can do to make these earrings slighty nicer and more permanent. This step is optional. The step is to wrap 21 gauge 1/2 round, 1/2 hard wire around the point where the initial and final loop overlap to better hold the shape of the Circles wire component. This is done by making a small "U" shaped bend in the end of a segment of about 1 1/2" of 1/2 round wire. You can see an extreme close up of the wrap at right. Position the "U" shaped bend on one side of the Circles and wrap one complete wrap round the circle of wire made on Super Peg 2. This becomes the loop on wire shown on the right hand side above-right. Use your bent chain nose pliers to squeeze the wrap tight and cut the excess wire, then squeeze the cut end flat again with your bent chain nose pliers. This fixes one side of your 1/2 round wire. With this one side of your 1/2 round wire in place, wrap the wire around the wire where both sides of the circle overlap. This is the horizontal segment of wire shown above-right. Wrap the 1/2 round wire around the "neck" of the circle wire component about 1 1/2 times, then bend the 1/2 round wire so that you can wrap it around the opposite side of the circle made on peg 2. This is the loop of wire shown on the left, above-right. Wrap the wire 1 1/2 times around the circle and cut the excess. Use your bent chain nose pliers to squeeze and tighten the wrapped wire. Do this for both Circle wire components. This completes your Beaded Circles Earrings. We hope you like this design. |
