![]() Alternative Design:
The peg pattern for making this wire component is shown at right on our WigJig Delphi jewelry making tool. This pattern uses Super Pegs that are 3/4", 1/2", 5/16" and 3/16" in diameter. The steps involved in making this component are identical to the steps for making the earrings. It is important to flip the wire over as you finish each successive circle, just as you did for the earrings. The wire for this component should be 16 gauge soft wire so that this component will be both larger and bolder than the earrings. Once you have the design in place on your jig, as shown above-right, you can lightly hammer the wire with a nylon hammer to help set the shape in the wire. You won't be able to hammer all spots on the wire, but where you can hammer it will help harden and fix the shape in the wire. This wire component could also be complimented with several beads. You can hang beads inside of each circle to add interest, motion and color to this design. Some people may even find that they like this design better than the earrings and may decide to use this for their earrings. The end result will be larger and bolder, and for some people that may be better. We hope you like our Jewelry Wire Circles Earrings and Necklace
designs. |
