Step 1: Open a large jump ring. You will need to open this jump ring wider than normal in order to allow it to fit the Ax Pendant. (Select here for our instructions in how to open and close jump rings.) You can make your own jump rings using 20 gauge soft wire and the largest step in your step jaw pliers. Our instructions for making a jump ring can be found here. Step 2: Slide one side of the open jump ring into the hole in the Ax Pendant. Step 3: Slide the other side of the open jump ring into your ear wire finding. Step 4: Close the jump ring. Step 5: (This step is optional.) In order that opening of the jump ring tends to align itself between the Ax Pendant and the ear wire finding, position the opening 1/2 way between the pendant and the ear wire and gently squeeze the jump ring using bent closing pliers. Squeeze until the jump ring is very slightly oval. Once this is completed, the oval jump ring will normally hang with the opening of the jump ring between the pendant and the ear wire and will be less likely to accidentally open. Perform these same steps for your second earring. This completes your earrings.
On the next web page we will discuss how to make an earring using a figure
8 connector.
