| Step 16: Now wrap the wire around peg 8 as shown at right. |
|
| Step 17: Wrap the wire around peg 9 as shown below left. Step 18: Remove the wire from the jig and cut the excess wire. Close the final loop that you made around peg 9 with your bent chain nose pliers. The finished wire component should appear as shown below. Make two of these end wire components. Step 19: Now we need to make an optional wire component that is called the "middle" component. This component helps to keep the segments of commercial chain straight and together as you wear this bracelet. Begin by cutting a wire segment 1 1/4 inches long. Make a loop in one end of this wire component. Step 20: Straighten this wire segment with your nylon jaw pliers. Step 21: Position two metal pegs in your jig as shown below and place your initial loop over one of these pegs. Wrap the wire around the other peg. Step 22: Remove the wire from your jig and cut the excess. Using your bent chain nose pliers close the final loop in that wire component. Step 23: Now using the tips of your round nose pliers, grasp each loop in turn and bend back, converting the "P" loop into an "eye" loop as shown below. See the bottom 1/2 of this web page for picture of how to do this. Make two of these middle wire components. |
