This third technique for finishing an earring body is slightly more work than the first two techniques, but I believe that the extra effort is well worth it.  This technique makes two simple wire components and connects these two components to make an earring.

In the earrings shown below-right, we show two similar techniques for making an earring body from two wire components.  The peg pattern shown far-right is the pattern for the earrings below on the far-right.

This technique for making earrings calls for converting the two loops in the upper earring body wire component first into eye loops and then rotating them 90 degrees so that they can easily connect to the bottom wire component.  Since this connection is similar to a hinge, the motion of the "hinge" when worn adds to the interest in these earrings.

Select either picture at right for instructions in how to make that style of earring.
