Step
14: At this point we are ready to add the bead dangle in the center
of the diamond. Use a larger bead for this bead dangle. The
earrings at right used a 6mm round bead, but an 8mm bead could have been
used. A single crystal silver lined 2x4mm bugle bead was also used
on this bead dangle. You may find that you have to do an open loop
for this bead dangle instead of a wrapped loop.
Step 15: These earrings are finished by adding an ear wire
finding to the top of the earring. Open the loop in your ear wire
finding. Connect it to the loop in the top of the top wire component
and close the loop in your finding.
That completes your earring. Use the same steps to make a second earring. At right we show an alternative design for these earrings. This alternative design uses a different approach to making the three bead dangles at the bottom of the earrings. Instead of using a total of 5 beads on one head pin for each bead dangle, this approach used two wrapped bead links followed by one bead on a head pin for each bead dangle. The wrapped bead links are made with 22 or 24 gauge wire and each include a single 4mm bead. The technique for making the wrapped bead link is discussed here. |
