Step
1: Using your flush cutter, cut a segment of 20 gauge round, 1/2
hard wire 4 inches long.Step 2: Using your fine step jaw pliers or your round nose pliers, make a half-loop in one end of this wire. (A full loop is not necessary as the loop will be cut off as we finish the earrings.) Step 3: Hold the wire segment by the half-loop you just made and straighten the wire by pulling it repeatedly through the jaws of your nylon jaw pliers. Step 4: Position peg 1 and 2 in your jig using one of the patterns shown below. Place your half-loop on peg 1 and bend the wire against peg 2 as shown. Push the wire with your fingers close to the pegs so that the bends will be sharp. Push the wire until it rests adjacent to the empty hole for peg 3 with no pressure applied.
Step 6: Remove the wire from your jig and add your beads to the
wire. A combination of three 4mm beads or two 4mm
Step 7: Using the tips of your bent chain nose pliers grasp the wire with the beads pushed toward the bend made on peg 3 as shown at left. |
