8: Now bend the wire so that it completes the triangle shape.

Step 9: At this point we need to grasp the wire tail where it
crosses the wire segment made between pegs 2 and 3, and bend the wire
horizontal. As we did before, grasp the wire close to the tips of
your pliers. When completed, your wire should appear as shown at
left.
Step 11: With the wrap begun using your round nose pliers, we
finish the wrap by grasping the wire component tightly in our bent chain
nose pliers and pushing the wire around about 2 times. In the
picture at right, the wire tail can not be seen because it is pointing
away from the camera, behind the rest of
Step 12: Cut the excess wire with your flush cutter and using a
second pair of chain nose pliers squeeze and twist the cut end of the wire
so that it will lay flat. Your wire component should appear
Step 13: Measure 3/8" to 7/16" from the bend made on peg 2 (toward the half-loop originally on peg 1) and cut the excess wire with the flat side of your cutter toward the finished piece. Step 14: Using a cup bur, jeweler's file, or fine nail file, file
the end of the cut wire so that it is smooth and rounded.
Step 15: Using your round nose pliers grip the wire 1/8" from the cut end. Squeeze your pliers while you rotate the piece. This will make a small groove in the wire that will be the notch for the ear clutch to hold the earrings on while wearing. |
