Step 18: Now we are ready to make the connection between the top of the earring body and the ear wire. To do this we make two spacer-bars and one jump ring for each earring. To make the spacer bar, position two pegs in your jig as shown below-left. Cut a segment of 20 gauge wire about 1 1/2 inches long. Make a "P" loop in the end of wire with the flush cut using your fine step jaw pliers. Place this initial loop on peg A and wrap the wire around peg B as shown. When you remove the wire from the jig, it should appear as shown below center-left. Step 19: Using your flush cutter cut the excess wire from the spacer bar. Using your bent chain nose pliers, close the final loop in the spacer bar. The spacer bar should appear as shown below center-right. Step 20: Using your round nose pliers, convert both "P" loops on the spacer bar to eye loops. You can view our free jewelry making instructions for converting a "P" loop to an eye loop here. When completed your spacer bar should appear as shown below-left. Make two identical spacer bars.
