 In
this alternative design, we use the same pegs for peg 1, 2 and 3, but
add peg 4, a regular metal peg to make the earring body shown at right.
You can view this modified peg pattern at left. Because of the
loop at the bottom of these earrings, we recommend hanging a bead
dangle, or as shown at right, a
6x9 or 7x10 Cubic
Zirconia Pendant. The difference in making this alternative
design is that after bending your wire 1/2 way around peg 3, you wrap
the wire around peg 4, then continue bending the wire the rest of the
way around peg 3 and back to peg 2. It should be relatively easy
to understand the change required to make these earrings.
The
final alternative we will discuss here will be to make these same
patterns but larger for use as a pendant in a necklace. If you
want to make a pendant for a necklace that matches your earrings, you
would follow exactly the same steps but use a larger peg pattern, larger
pegs and larger beads. The pattern shown at left uses two 3/8"
Super Pegs to create a larger pendant hanging. This pattern could
accommodate 8mm beads on the bead dangle hanging in the center of the
ovals wire component.
We hope that our readers will enjoy at least one of our alternative
designs. We think that these designs are great for earrings and
would also make a very nice pendant for a necklace.
