Making Pendant Necklaces Jewelry Making ProjectMaking a pendant necklace requires a different orientation of your loop at the top, than you would use for making earrings.  Fortunately, if you need to, you can change the orientation of your loop at the top.  This is done by grasping the loop with your bent chain nose pliers and twisting the loop as required.

When making a pendant for a necklace it is a good idea to have a larger loop at the top.  This allows room to add a chain with a small clasp already on it. For a chain with a larger clasp, you may need to make the chain after threading a piece of un-terminated chain through the loop at the top of your pendant.

We do have directions here on how to add a catch to a chain and on how to squeeze an existing catch so that it might fit through the loop in your pendant.

Here are some more instructions on how to make a simple chain for a necklace like this.

We hope you like these pendant earrings and necklaces.  We are working on another design for how to make a bezel type of hanging for a large pendant style gemstone like the one shown here.  Hopefully, we will add those instructions here in the next month.
