Step
16: To finish this ring we need to wrap fine gauge wire around both
sides of the ring to keep the two wire segments together. This is
easies to perform using 21 gauge 1/2 round 1/2 hard wire. Cut a
segment of this wire about 1 3/4" long. Make a "U" shaped bend in
the wire with the tips of your round nose pliers. Position the
bottom of the "U" next to one side of the ring and wrap the wire around
tightly about 4 times. Squeeze the wrapped wire with your bent chain
nose pliers after each wrap. Cut the ends of the 1/2 round wire so
that they will not show on the inside of the ring. Squeeze the wrap
with your bent chain nose pliers. If you want, you can put a small
drop of Super Glue or Jeweler's Cement to hold the two wire ends flat
inside the ring.
Step 18: Try your new ring on. If it fits, you are done. It the ring is slightly loose, you can wrap wire around the bottom of the ring just like you did on each side. This will make the ring slightly smaller. You can see two views of the finished ring below. The difference between these two rings, other than the color of wire is the distance between pegs 1 and 2. In the green ring below, peg 1 is one hole further from peg 2 and so the beginning and ending loops are a little further from the circle of wire made on the Super Peg. Both styles work. The style in the green wire is slightly easier to make.
