Step 18 to Jessica's Earrings Jewelry Making Design

Step 18:  At this point we need to bend the long end of the fine gauge wire back under the two superimposed loops in the circular wire component.  This begins the process of making a loop inside the circular wire component to connect to the next Step 19 to Jessica's Earrings Jewelry Making Designsmaller component.

Step 19:  Now we insert our round nose pliers into the two superimposed loops as Step 20 to Jessica's Earrings Jewelry Making Designshown at left.

Step 20:  With your pliers in position, wrap the fine gauge wire around the inside jaw of your pliers until you have a complete loop.  Step 21 to Jessica's Earrings Jewelry Making Design

Step 21:  Remove your pliers.  Your wire component should appear as shown at left.

Step 22:  Step 22 to Jessica's Earrings Jewelry Making DesignNow we need to wrap the fine gauge wire around the opposite side of the circular wire component.  At this point you will be wrapping the end of the fine gauge wire around the same side of the the two superimposed loops as the beginning of the wire.  If you look closely at the picture at right, you will see that the fine gauge wire forming the loop comes off the front or top of the circular wire component on one side and wraps around the back or bottom of Jessica's Earrings Jewelry Making Project with Crystal Beadsthe circular wire component on the opposite side.  This helps to orientate the loop we just completed in the center of the larger circular wire component.  When you have completed two wraps around the circular wire component, cut the excess wire with your flush cutter and squeeze the cut end of the wire flat with your bent chain nose pliers.  This completes one of the three circular wire components.

Step 23:  Do the same thing for the other two circular wire components.  Once all three loops are completed in this manner, we are ready to begin assembling the earring.

Step 24:  Using a 5" segment of 22 gauge wire make two medium sized open jump rings.  We used the middle step in our fine step jaw pliers to make our jump ring and they were just the right size.  You can view how to make jump rings using your step jaw pliers here.
