| Step 9: Now thread an 8mm bead onto a 1 1/2 inch head pin and
make a bead dangle using your round nose pliers, your bent chain nose
pliers and your flush cutter. Instructions for
making a bead dangle can be found here. You have a choice as to
how to add the bead dangle to the earrings. You can make the initial
loop in the bead dangle and add this to the loop in the square ear
wire that you completed in step 8, then wrap the end of the head pin
around itself, or you can make the bead dangle by itself and
open the loop
in the square ear wire add the bead dangle and then close the loop.
The finished earrings will appear as shown at right.
These earrings can be hammered using a chasing hammer and anvil to harden the design. This is not required, but hammering the three corners might be a good idea if you plan on selling the earrings. Hammering will make the design stiffer and more permanent. |
