Step 2:  Using your Fine Step Jaw Pliers (if you  have them) or round nose pliers if you don't, make a loop in one end of your wire segment.  The technique for making a loop in larger gauges of wire like 14 or 16 gauge is described here. 

Step 3:  Hold the wire by the loop and repeatedly pull the wire through the jaws of your nylon jaw pliers.  This will be more difficult because of the size of the wire, but it is still one of the most important steps in making this ring.

Step 4:  Place two metal pegs in your jig as shown in the WigJig Delphi at right.  Place your initial loop on peg 1.  For making a ring that is size 7, the two pegs need to be 2 1/5 inches apart as shown.  For a smaller ring, move peg 2 closer to peg 1.  For a larger ring, you can use one of our larger jigs. 

Step 5:  Bend the wire against peg 2.  It may be better to start the bend on the jig, but finish it on your Fine Step Jaw Pliers.  Large gauges of soft wire tend to bend loosely and may not make a tight loop around peg 2 in the same size as the loop on peg 1.  Please notice that the two loops are pointing away from each other. 

Step 6:  Remove the wire from your jig and cut the excess wire.  Use your bent chain nose pliers to close the second loop. 

Step 7:  We make the round shape for the ring using a ring mandrel.  To make a size 7 ring, it is best to shape the wire around the size 6 position on the ring mandrel as the wire won't completely take the shape of the mandrel.  Bend the wire around the ring mandrel and using your nylon hammer, hammer the wire against the mandrel.  Hammer all the way around the ring.  You will need to hammer a lot, about 1-2 minutes of hammering, then rotating the ring and hammering in the next spot.
