Campbell's Soup Jewelry Stand Jewelry Making ProjectFirst, let's address the Campbell's Soup Stand.  This stand is made around a 10 3/4 ounce can of Campbell's Soup.  You should be able to visualize the shape of the can by looking at this stand at right.  Here is how it is made.

Step 1:  Cut a 24 inch segment of 12 gauge wire.  (Smaller wire will work, but won't be as permanent.

Step 2:  Make a loop in one end of this wire.

Step 3:  Straighten the wire by holding the loop and pulling the wire through the jaws of your nylon jaw pliers.

Step 4:  Now holding the loop facing away from your soup can, wrap the wire 1/2 way around the can.  Note the 1/2 way point on the wire and set the can down.

Step 5:  Using your bent chain nose pliers, grip the wire at the 1/2 way point and bend it 90 degrees up.

Step 6:  Orient the can with the top facing down on a flat surface like a table and position your wire against the lip around the top of the can.  The wire should be pointing straight up, parallel to the can.  At the point where the wire reaches the bottom of the can (the highest point away from the table) bend the wire 90 degrees so that it is parallel to the bottom of the can.

Step 7:  Now pick up the can and hold the wire in place against the can.  Where the un-bent wire reaches the edge of the can end the wire down the opposite side of the can.  This wire should be parallel to the wire on the opposite side.  Note the point where the wire touches the top of the can.

Step 8:  Remove the can.  At the point were the wire touches the top of the can, grasp the wire with your bent chain nose pliers and bend it 90 degrees away from the initial loop, but in the same plane.

Step 9:  Replace the can and bend the wire around the can.

Step 10:  Remove the can and set it aside.  Using your round nose pliers make a loop at the end and cut the excess wire.  Close the final loop with your bent chain nose pliers.
