Step 8 to Sword Jewelry Wire & Beads Earrings Jewelry Making ProjectStep 8:  Remove your wire from your jig.  At this point, the wire component should appear Step 9 to Sword Jewelry Wire & Beads Earrings Jewelry Making Projectas shown at right.

Step 9:  We want to make a loop at the top of this wire component to allow us to hang a bead dangle.  We do this with our round nose pliers.  First, grip the wire component as shown at left.  Hold the wire firmly and bend the wire down to begin making a loop on the lower of the jaws of the round nose pliers.  You won't be able to complete the loop in the wire because the jaws of the pliers will be in the way.  Step 10 to Sword Jewelry Wire & Beads Earrings Jewelry Making Project

Step 10:  At this point, your wire should appear as shown at right.  The red wire that we used here is soft wire and soft wire doesn't naturally wrap tightly.  When making this bend with 1/2 hard wire, you will find that making this loop Step 11 to Sword Jewelry Wire & Beads Earrings Jewelry Making Projectwill be easier.

Step 11:  In order to complete the loop, you will need to change your grip on the wire.  Re-grip the wire as shown at left. Step 12 to Sword Jewelry Wire & Beads Earrings Jewelry Making Project

Step 12:  Now bend the wire the rest of the way around the upper jaw of your round nose pliers as shown at right.  Step 13 to Sword Jewelry Wire & Beads Earrings Jewelry Making Project

Step 13:  Your wire component should now appear as shown at left.  At this point we are ready to cut the excess wire and the point where the wire starts to overlap.  Remember to cut the wire with the flat side of your cutter toward the finished wire component.
