Step 14: In order to keep the two sides of the top of the
wire component together, we need to put a connector through the top of
the wire component. We recommend a
modified figure 8 connector as
described here. By using this connector, the earring will hang
with the appropriate orientation (parallel to the body) when connected
to an ear wire.
Step 15: Once you have added the figure 8 connector, it is rather easy to add your ear wire to the top of the earrings. All you need to do is to open the loop in the modified figure 8 connector, add the ear wire, then close that loop. Opening and closing loops is done as described here. Step 16: The final step in making these earrings is to add a bead dangle to the loop in the sword wire component that we finished in step 14. You can add the bead dangle with an open loop or with a wrapped loop. The process for making an open loop are described beginning here. The process for making a wrapped loop are described beginning here. For beginners, please note that our video on jewelry making techniques describes how to make figure 8 connectors, how to open loops, and how to make a bead dangle with either an open or a wrapped loop. You can view information on our beginner's training videos in WigJig Video University here. These videos can be rather large so they are not suitable for people with a slow internet connection. |
