Alternative Configurations:

Our first alternative configuration is to replace the Top Wire Component with an easier to make component.  The peg pattern at right uses fewer pegs and is relatively easy to make.  Many people may find it a better choice for the largest of the 3 Stars used in this necklace.  This pattern is actually very similar to the Middle and Bottom Wire Components and is in fact just a matter of scaling the Middle Wire Component up by the same amount that the middle wire component is larger than the Bottom Wire Component.  Other than changing this one wire component, all the other steps in making this necklace would be identical. 

Our next alternative configurations would be to make earrings.  The earrings could be made using the pattern for the Bottom Wire Component or for the Middle Wire Component.  Making the earrings is relatively easy if you can make the necklace.  All you need to do is to make two identical wire components.  You connect the commercial ear wire finding to the beginning/ending loops in the wire component by opening the loop in the ear wire and connecting it to the wire component you made, then closing the loop in the ear wire.  Beads are added to the three bottom points in the star using head pins.  The technique is identical to the technique used when making the necklace.
