Step 8: Place the initial loop from the 5 inch wire segment on peg 3 with
the wire tail on the left side of peg 3. Now, as
shown at right, wrap the wire to the right and over peg 4, then under
and around and finally over peg 5. Now bring the wire under peg 4
and then over, around and under peg 6. From below peg 6, the wire is
wrapped over peg 4, down the left side of peg 4 and finally around the
right side of peg 3. Finish by making a loop around peg 3.
Step 9: Remove the wire from your jig and place the loops made around peg 3 on the stepped jaw of your step jaw pliers. While holding the wire component in your step jaw pliers and your pliers in your non-dominant hand, wrap the wire tail around the wire segment between pegs 3 and 4 as shown at right. Step 10. Cut the excess wire and using your bent chain nose
pliers gently squeeze the cut end so that it lies flat. See the
picture at right. |
|
| Step 11: Now place the loops in the wire made around peg 4 onto the stepped jaw of your step jaw pliers. While holding the wire component in the step jaw pliers with your non-dominant hand, grasp the loops made around peg 5 with your bent chain nose pliers and twist 360 degrees. (Grasp the loops as if they were solid and you are grasping the sides of the solid object and not the edge.) Repeat on the loop made around peg 6. For the loop on peg 5 you will twist counter-clockwise. For the loop made on peg 6 you will twist clockwise. |
