Men's Beaded Necklace Jewelry Making Project Step 12

Step 12:  Using your round nose pliers, make a loop in the wire as close to the 90 degree bend as possible.  Using  your round nose pliers align the loop so that it is centered on the wire from Men's Beaded Necklace Jewelry Making Project Step 13the end cone.

Step 13:  Thread your commercial clasp onto the wire and slide it into position in the loop in the wire as shown at left.

Step: 14:  Grasp the loop with your bent chain nose pliers and hold the loop firmly while you wrap the wire tail around the wire between the end cone and the loop.  Wrap about 2 full rotations.

Men's Beaded Necklace Jewelry Making Project Step 15Step 15:  Cut the excess wire with your flush cutter.  Grasp the loop in your bent chain nose pliers and while holding this loop, use a second pair of chain nose pliers and squeeze the cut end of the wire flat.  This completes one end of your necklace.

Step 16:  At this point, measure from the center of your necklace to the end of the clasp that you just completed.  This measurement should be 1/2 of the length of your finished necklace.  If the length isn't correct, add or remove beads as necessary to get to the correct length.

Step 17:  When you have your length correct, you are ready to add the other end of Men's Beaded Necklace Green Patternyour clasp.  This is done in the same steps as before.  Return to Step 3 and begin making the second clasp.  Follow these steps until you get to Step 8.  When pulling the slack out of the wire, you need to pull all the slack out of the Soft Touch wire in your necklace.  You are ready to squeeze the crimp beads when there is no slack in the wire.
