Step 18: Continue adding the second clasp to your necklace,
following steps 9 through 15.
Because we knotted the Soft Touch bead stringing wire on either side
and also used two crimp beads, where one would have been sufficient, we
have made a necklace that is significantly stronger. This necklace
should stand up to being worn by someone who is not accustomed to wearing
a necklace, and may not treat it delicately.
This
approach of covering the crimp beads and using wire to connect between the
bead stringing wire and your clasp may be appropriate for anyone.
End cones come in many sizes. Crimp bead covers may also be used in
place of the end cones. This approach adds a little magic to the
finished product. It isn't obvious how the necklace was made and the
finished results look rather professional.
I gave the necklaces shown to the radio celebrity as discussed in the
first page of these instructions. The bad news is that the radio
personality did not like the necklaces and planned on giving them to a
female friend. The good news is that I liked the necklaces and
decided to make a couple for me. My wife also liked the necklaces
and indicated that she would like one also. Perhaps I should have
called these necklaces Gender-Neutral or Unisex Necklaces. |
