Step 13: We have four bead dangles on these earrings. The lower three bead dangles are connected to each of the loops in the triangular wire component. The upper bead dangle hangs from the jump ring, between the two spacer bars. In the close-up view at left you can see the components of these earrings more clearly. Each bead dangle is made on a head pin. For the bead dangles shown here, we used 2 inch head pins. The beads we selected are 4mm, bicone Swarovski Crystal beads separated by 2x4mm bugle beads. The bugle beads shown are item 1883 in our Internet store. They are the color crystal and are silver lined (S/L) to add shine. To make these bead dangles you first thread a 4mm bicone bead, then a 2x4mm bugle bead, followed by a 4mm bicone bead and then a second 2x4mm bugle beads followed by the third 4mm bicone bead. Slide all five beads toward the head of the head pin and grasp the head pin immediately above the beads with your bent chain nose pliers and bend the wire about 90 degrees. After you have made the bend in the wire, make either an open or a wrapped loop at the top of the bead dangle. For beginners, an open loop is a better option. Please select here to view our free instructions in how to make an open loop. Make three bead dangles as described and connect one to each of the loops in the triangular wire component. Step 14: For the top bead dangle, you will need to make the loop at the top slightly larger so that it will be easier to connect it to the jump ring, between the spacer bars. Make that fourth bead dangle and connect it to the jump ring, between the two spacer bar wire components. When you are done, your earrign should appear as shown above-right and you are ready to wear them. Step 15: Follow these same steps to make a second earring. We hope you like these earrings. For us, we find it much easier to be consistent when making a complex shape like these earrings, by combining a few simple wire components as we have rather than trying to make one really complex wire component out of one piece of wire. On the following web page we will discuss some alternative designs for these earrings. |
