Begin this jewelry making project by following steps 1 through 5 on our Beginner's Instructions Page 35 with a piece of 18 or 20 gauge wire 4 inches long and a second piece of 20 gauge wire 2 1/2 inches long.  These are our generic project instructions for cutting, straightening and making a loop in the end of your wire.  The 4 inch long wire segment is for the V shaped wire component.  The 2 1/2 inch long segment is for the bar at the top of the V that helps retain the shape of the V shaped component.

Step 6:  After positioning pegs 1 and 2, make a loop around peg 2 with the 4 inch segment of wire.

Step 7:  Then add pegs 5, 4 and 3, removing peg 1 and 2.  Now place the initial loop on peg 5 and the second loop on peg 4 and make a loop around peg 3 as shown at right.  (By flipping the wire over like this, the end component will be flatter.)

Step 8:  Add Peg 2 and make a loop around this peg.

Step 9:  Add Peg 1 and make a loop around this peg.  This completes the V shaped component on your jig.

Step 10:  Remove the V shaped component from your jig and cut the excess wire.  Close the final loop with your bent chain nose pliers.

Step 11:  Using the 2 1/2 inch wire segment, add pegs 6 and 7 and place the initial loop on peg 6.  Wrap the wire around peg 7 as shown above.
