Step 26 to Advanced Beginner's Jewelry Wire Catch Jewelry Making Finding Step 1

Step 26:  To finish the catch, you need to cut the excess wire and use your bent chain nose pliers to squeeze the cut end of the wire flat.  The finished catch will appear as shown at right and the finished clasp is shown below center.
 

You may find occasions where you need the hook portion of the clasp but don't need the catch because you can incorporate the catch function into the wire components on your bracelet or necklace.  The bracelet shown below is just one examples where we used a hook that we made, but incorporated the clasp into the wire components on one side of the bracelet.  Please select the picture below to view our instructions on how we did this.
