Step 11 to Wrapped Wire Chain Bracelet with Beads Jewelry Making Project

Step 11:  Using your flush cutter, cut the excess wire.  Again, you will want the flush side of this cut to remain on your finished wire component so hold your flush cutter with the flat side toward Step 12 to Wrapped Wire Chain Bracelet with Beads Jewelry Making Projectthe finished piece.

Step 12:  To finish this link in your chain, you need to use your bent chain nose pliers to squeeze the cut end of the wire flat.  Hold the After Step 12 to Wrapped Wire Chain Bracelet with Beads Jewelry Making Projectwire in your Fine Step Jaw Pliers as shown and left, with the step jaw pliers in your non-dominant hand and holding your bent chain nose pliers in your dominant hand, squeeze and twist the end of the cut wire until it lays flat.  Your completed link in the chain will appear as shown at right.  (The difference between the pictures for step 11 and 12 does not appear too great, but with your fingers you will be easily able to feel the difference.  In step 11 the cut end of the wire sticks up and you would notice it when you run your fingers over the piece.  In step 12, the cut end of the wire is squeezed flat and you would not be able to Step 13 to Wrapped Wire Chain Bracelet with Beads Jewelry Making Projectnotice it when handling the piece.)

Step 13:  With the first link in the chain completed we are ready to add the second link.  Use one of the 15 wire segments from step 7 and slide the wire through the loops at the Step 14 to Wrapped Wire Chain Bracelet with Beads Jewelry Making Projectbottom of the first link in the chain as shown at right.

Step 14:  Using your round nose pliers make a loop in the end of the wire just like you did in steps 8 and 4.  Try to make the loop the same size as the loop made in step 4.  When Step 15 to Wrapped Wire Chain Bracelet with Beads Jewelry Making Projectcompleted your wire should appear as shown at left.

Step 15:  As we did in step 9, we need to grasp the wire in the center and make a "U" shaped bend.  Slide the initial link to one side of the new wire segment so that it won't be in your way as you make this "U" shaped bend.   The unused wire needs to be on the outside of the "U" when the bend is completed so be certain to position the unused wire on the bottom as shown at right.  Push both loops in the wire up until they meet above the pliers.
