New Chain Step 14: Now we are ready to begin work on the
second loop in the chain. Take one of your wire segments from step 7
and insert it into the loops in the first link of your chain as shown at
right.
New Chain Step 15: Using your round nose pliers make a loop
in the end of the wire in the same manner as you did for step 8. Try
to make this loop the same size as the initial loop, by grasping the wire
at the same point on your round nose pliers. When completed your
wire should appear as shown at left.
New Chain Step 16: Now we need to make the "U" shaped bend in
the wire as we did in step 11 on the prior page. Grasp the wire in
the middle with the second step of your step jaw pliers. While
holding it in this position, bend both loops up until they meet. New Chain Step 17: In order to ensure that the two loops overlap, place the two loops on your step jaw pliers and push them together as show at left. Continue building your chain by adding links using the steps described here. To make the bracelet we made initially, with this chain, you will need two segments of 8 links each.
In the following page we will describe how to make a watch band using this
new chain.
