![]() This wire and beads necklace jewelry making project is similar to the chain we made for the earlier earrings and bracelet, but the links are larger and more suitable for a necklace. The technique for making the links is slightly modified from our earlier technique to accommodate the larger links. You can view the completed necklace at right, or you can view a life-size picture of the necklace by selecting the link that says Large Necklace above. For beginners to making jewelry, we suggest that you use 20 gauge wire to make the links for this necklace. For more advanced wire workers, we suggest using 18 gauge. 1/2 hard wire is preferred.
The idea in the design for this necklace is that the finished links should
look very similar to the links in the bracelet, but larger and bolder.
That is why using large wire was important for this jewelry making
project. |
