Step 8 to Wire Wrapped Chain Necklace with Beads Jewelry Making ProjectStep 8:  Using the thumb on your dominant hand push the wire around peg 2 as shown at right.  Push with your thumb close to the peg.  Most people find it easier to hold their thumb stationary and using your non-dominant hand rotate the jig to get the wire into the position shown.  You will probably need to push the wire beyond peg 1 slightly so that with no pressure applied to the wire it will naturally take the position shown.   Step 9 to Wire Wrapped Chain Necklace with Beads Jewelry Making Project

Step 9:  Using your bent chain nose pliers, grasp the wire immediately adjacent to peg 1.  It is probably easier to grasp the wire with the pliers in your non-dominant hand and to push the wire with the thumb of your dominant hand.  Push with your thumb close to the pliers until you have a roughly 80 degree bend.  When you have Step 10 to Wire Wrapped Chain Necklace with Beads Jewerly Making Projectpushed the wire far enough, it will appear as shown at right.

Step 10:  Perform steps 7, 8 and 9 on all 22 segments of wire.

After Step 10 to Wire Wrapped Chain Necklace Jewelry Making ProjectStep 11:  Using your round nose pliers, grasp the wire at the bend in the wire you just made and make a loop in the wire.  Again this is a two step process as 1/2 way through making the loop you will need to release your grip on the wire and re-orientate your pliers so that you can complete the loop.  When you have completed this step your wire component should appear as shown at left.  Do this for only 6 segments of wire.  Each of these wire segments will be Step 12 to Wire Wrapped Chain Necklace with Beads Jewelry Making Projectthe beginning link in a segment of chain.

Step 12:  Now position the two loops in your wire component on your fine step jaw pliers as shown at right.  Hold the step jaw pliers in your non-dominant hand.  Push the two loops so that they are as close together as you can get them.  In the picture at right, the out of focus wire tail is pointing out of the picture at the eye of the viewer.
