Jewelry Making Techniques

Many expensive gemstones are made in a style called Briolette, shown at right.  This style of bead is teardrop shaped with a hole horizontally through the top of the teardrop.  Mounting these briolette beads in jewelry can be a challenge because you can not use a head-pin as you would with normal teardrop beads.  These instructions will describe one way to mount a briolette bead.
