Alternative Design Continued: Step 9: Make five of these Flemish Spiral wire components.
For intermediate wire workers make four small and one large. Step 10: Using 22 gauge wire,
open both loops on the wire component. Make a "U" shaped bend
about 1/2" from the end of a 2 inch segment of the 22 gauge wire.
Place this "U" shaped bend in position to wrap around the middle of the
wire component and squeeze the "U" shaped bend with your chain nose
pliers. While holding this wire in position with your chain nose
pliers, wrap the free end of the wire around the middle of the Flemish
Spiral. Squeeze the wire at the bend with your chain nose pliers.
Make about three loops using this technique. Now cut both ends of
the wire near the middle and tuck these cut ends in so that they do not
stick out. After tucking in the cut ends,
close both loops. Step 11: Repeat the above process to wrap wire around the middle of all five Flemish Spiral wire components. |
