Making a classic pearl bracelet is easy by comparison with the necklace.
Instead of using a wire component that we make as a clasp, we use a
commercial clasp. The other significant difference between this
jewelry making project and the necklace is that we add a guard chain with the clasp.
Here are the steps in making this bracelet. Step 1: Using your
stainless steel wire cutters cut 10 inches of .019 Soft Flex or Soft Touch
bead stringing wire. |

|
Step 2: Thread a 2x2mm crimp bead onto one end of the bead stringing
wire. Then thread a 2 1/2 inch segment of fine commercial chain onto
the bead stringing wire. This will become the guard chain.
Finally, thread the bead stringing wire through one of the loops in the commercial
clasp and back through the crimp bead.
Crimp the bead to lock the
clasp and one end of the bead stringing wire in place. |
|
| Step 3: Thread 24 Swarovski Crystal Pearl Beads and 23 1mm crimp beads (alternating) onto your bead stringing wire. Again, I recommend using a hemostat to clamp the end of your bead stringing wire every time you set this project down to avoid playing follow the bouncing bead. (No fun!) |
