Alternative Design:

This alternative design is a new configuration for the catch portion of the clasp used with this necklace.  The instructions for the hook portion of the clasp remains the same as described in page 3, but the catch is changed.  The combined hook and catch clasp can be seen at right.  Instructions for making this catch are provided below.
 

Hook and Clasp Jewelry Making Project

Step A:  Cut a 4 inch segment of 20 gauge wire and make a loop in the flush end of this wire segment (not the sharp end). 

Step B:  Straighten this wire segment. 

Step C:  Position a metal peg and a 1/4 inch Super Peg in your jig separated by about 1/2 inch as shown at right.  Place the loop in your wire on peg one as shown.

Step D:  Wrap the wire around peg 2 as shown.
