This necklace incorporates a "yoke" component that is 1/2 of a diamond and the other 1/2 is replaced with a spiral.  Since I don't have a better name for the necklace, it will be the Spiral-Diamond necklace.  It could have been the Inverted Christmas tree necklace, but this didn't sound too good either.  While we don't have a great sounding name for the necklace, the design is a very nice combination of jewelry wire and beads and the resulting necklace should attract attention.  This is an advanced beginners jewelry making project.

        Jewelry Making Supplies:

Tools Required:
  • 18 inches of medium commercial chain
  • 7.5 inches of 18G soft wire
  • 20 inches of 22 or 24G wire
  • One 2" head pin
  • 15 six mm beads
  • One 2 or 2.5 mm round metal beads
  • One commercial clasp finding

  • Round Nose Pliers

  • Flush Cutter

  • Chain Nose or Bent Chain Nose Pliers (2)

  • Any WigJig acrylic jig

  • 7 metal pegs

  • 2-3 hours of free time

Jewelry Making Skills Required:

  • Use of a WigJig to make wire components.

  • Ability to make a spiral. 

  • Ability to connect chain components using a wrapped bead link.
