Step 1.  Thread about 5-6 inches of wire through the center hole in the spool knitter and out the bottom.  Place the wire on the left side of peg 1, and wrap the wire around peg 1 to the right side of peg 2.  (This will effectively wrap the wire around peg 1 in a clock-wise manner.)

Step 2:  Wrap the wire around peg 2 in a clock-wise manner to the top of peg 3. 

Step 3:  Wrap the wire in a clock-wise manner around peg 3 and on the right side/above peg 1. 

Step 4:  Wrap the wire outside peg 1 to the outside of peg 2.
