Step 20: Now we begin to make the Modified Figure 8 connector.
Begin by cutting a straightening a piece of wire 1 1/4" long. Make a
loop in the end of the wire. |

| Step 21: Convert this P loop into an Eye loop. |

Step 22: Now we begin the modifications to the Figure 8. Grasp
the loop in your bent chain nose pliers and bend the wire at an angle of
about 80 degrees. With the loop held flat in the jaws of your pliers
bend the wire away from you as shown at right. |

Step 23: Using your round nose pliers, grasp the wire near the bend
you just made and make a loop in the wire. This loop needs to be
larger than the initial loop as it will go through the loop in the center of
the V shaped wire component. |

| Step 24: Cut the excess wire tail and close the loop in the Modified Figure 8 connector. It should now appear as shown at right. When one of these loops is horizontal, the other loop is vertical. This allows us to make sure that these earrings hang in the orientation that we want. |
